Spiced Apple Cake

Hello!

Here I'm again with a new recipe!

It's my version of the Gordon Ramsay Spiced Apple Cake, but I think it's between a dessert and a cake.

40 minutes
4 servers
Easy

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples
  • cinnamon (as desired)
  • sugar
  • 50 gr butter
  • 150 gr sugar

Ingredients for the cake:

  • 125 gr flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • an egg (large)
  • 110 ml milk
  • tsp. vanilla extract
  • 50 gr butter
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • a handful of peanuts and some icing sugar

Method:

  1. Cut the apples into wedges and put them in a frypan together with the butter over low heat. Once the apples are lightly browned, add the sugar. Caramelize the apples.
  2. Add the cinnamon and stir well. Leave it to stand.
  3. Preheat the oven (180º)
  4. Mix the flour together with the salt and the sugar in a bowl.
  5. Beat the egg in another bowl. Add the milk and the vanilla extract (if you don't have vanilla extract you can use vanilla beans) Once the egg, the milk and the vanilla extract are well mixed, add the dry ingredientes little by little. Beat them.
  6. Let the dough to stand.
  7. Choose two mouldes to pour the apples. In my case, I've chosen two clay pots.
  8. Now, pour the dough in the pots.
  9. Chop the peanuts and spread them all over the dough.
  10. Put the pots in the oven for 22 minutes. (After these minutes, check it with a toothpick if the dough is cooked, if not, give them 5 more minutes.
  11. Once turned golden, take the cakes off the oven.
  12. When they are cool, sprinkle some icing sugar on them.
  13. You can serve them together with some vanilla icecream as Ramsay suggests.

And that's all! Hope you have enjoyed the recipe!
